The Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 will become law early September of this year. Any company undertaking eMail Marketing or SMS texting will be affected. We have spent the last 2 years following and studying this Act so we would be ready for it. If you would like to find out more about this Act & how it may affect you and the way you currently do business.

Consolidating Different Databases

With the SPAM Act just around the corner and the new Post Code regulations happening in July of next year, it is becoming more important than every to bring all of your separate customers databases together into one file. If you have already done this - well done you are in a good space for September when the SPAM Act comes in.

If you have still got your customer data in different spreadsheets/databases you will need to think how you will handle Unsubcribing customers from receiving your email marketing. The danger is, you remove the person from one database but they are left on another - this can easily happen when you are running a customer database and a separate prospecting database.

Also it is the quickest way to have duplicate records of the same person or company. Nothing makes you look worse in the eyes of your customer if you send them multiple copies of the same message - you may even have two different spellings of their name.

Golden Rule #1 of database management is to have a single customer view.
